What is FACE? It is a Not-for-Profit 501 (c) 3 Public Charity created to assist owners who have financial difficulty obtaining necessary specialty and/or emergency medical treatment for their companion animal.
How do I apply for assistance? You need to contact FACE either by sending an e-mail to www.face4pets.org or a telephone call to 858-875-7500 and request to speak with a representative of the Foundation. Your regular primary veterinarian may also contact the Foundation and/or refer the owner for application to the Foundation.
What criteria need to be met to obtain assistance?
2. The animal’s condition is urgent or emergent and can be resolved in a short period of time and/or with a single treatment/procedure.
3. Funding is not available for routine care such as vaccinations, neuter/spay, dental care/procedures and/or long term care such as dermatology.
4. The owner(s) must be in financial need and be unable to pay the cost for treatment.
5. The owner(s) must apply for Citi Health if in financial need and either is denied or approved for limited funding.
6. The owner(s) must be appreciative of the financial assistance if they have been approved for a grant.
7. The owner(s) agree to repay the Foundation if their financial condition changes in the future.
8. The owner must agree to a pet photograph and publication of the case history on the FACE website, newsletters or other foundation publications.
How long does the process take once application is made for assistance? Normally the process usually does not take more than 10-15 minutes if all criteria as noted above have been met. If approved for funding, the Owner will sign a “Request for Funding” Form, a “Consent to Photograph” Form and then the application will be signed by the treating specialist and an Officer of the Foundation.

How can I make a donation to the Foundation?
There are several ways to make a donation to the Foundation for Animal Care & Education. You may make a check payable to the FACE and mail to 10435 Sorrento Valley Road, Suite 300, San Diego, California 92121 or you may make a credit card donation by selection the donation box at the top of the FACE4PETS.org website home page and follow the instructions.
